Spoiled Wisdom
Welcome little ones.
I have often wondered what sort of pathetic individuals come here to Danger Couch to receive their weekly allotment of solace and cheer. The truth is even worse than I suspected. Talk about sad.
The good news is that you are just in time for a random, yet amazing morsel of true wisdom, freshly taken from my ample stores.
Yes, from my lofty pinnacle of success, I do so enjoy the occasional opportunity to give back to the world that has given so much to me, most of it in the form of oxygen and carbohydrates. Minor contributions, you might say, when compared with what I offer in return, but I’m just like that: generous to a fault. So, with my good nature properly acknowledged, allow me to present you with the following helping of transcendental truth:
Stop.
Deep huh? Yeah, feels good. I feel like I really contributed something right there. Something deep and profound was released from the deepest profoundery of my being, which is widely known for its deep profundity.
Yup, that was a good tip. I wonder how hard it would be to adapt it to a book?
What? You want to know what to stop?
Come on people, don’t make me do all the work. Use your imagination here. Stop spending money you don’t have. Stop wasting time that will never come again. Stop sniffing postage stamps, you know there’s nothing there to smell. Just stop!
Great! That’s just peachy!
Now I’ve spelled it all out. I hope you’re happy.
All the books on offering advice, and those on personal development, and even the ones on psychopathic development, they all state quietly clearly not to make your suggestion too specific. They all say to leave room for the individual to adapt the offered wisdom to their own personal existence. And now I’ve ruined it. Ruined your chance at profiting from my carefully acquired wisdom. I feel soiled.
Did I type that out loud? Please excuse me for a just a minute.
Okay, where was I? Oh yes, lamenting your loss at my spoiled sagery brought about by your impatient insistence that I specify specifics.
Well, there’s nothing for it. Go ahead and implement stop as best you can, even though it won’t be anywhere as amazing for you as it could have been. In the meantime, I will start working on some more really impressive advice. Maybe something along the lines of start.
